On Friday, 10 January 2019, Quba Mosque Melbourne held a special prayer for the victims of the Australian bushfires. Dr Salih Yucel also led an Istisqa prayer for rain. After the prayer he delivered a short khutba about disasters and how they bring out the best in humanity to unify us. Following the prayer the Mosque congregation stepped out and prayed for rain. Dr Yucel made a prayer for the Australian Bushfires and pleaded for rain, protection for fellow Australians, their homes, and wildlife. Following the prayer, donations were collected for the victims of the bushfires.
